Have I mentioned my love of nature? It's not a theoretical, thoughtful love. It's a I-must-touch-that-soft-fuzzy-grass-seed-head-now love. Touching leaves, smelling flowers, opening seedpods, crunching leaves under my foot... this brings me to life and reminds me I have a body. My senses remind me that I am in (and of) this world. And, so, inevitably I bring them into my studio to spend more time with them. Like being outside, I also enjoy the sensory experience of mixing colors and moving them over the paper or canvas and watching how, with time, something emerges.
